HISTORY:
Houses on Howard & Fuller Place were built in 1912 by
developer/Congressman Wm Calder. According to The Brooklyn
Daily
Eagle, these "Top 'O Brooklyn"
(highest
ground in the borough)
houses
were modeled after Washington D.C. homes and were
advertised
as possessing advanced ideas
such as "electric lights and
steam heat". More recently Howard Place had its' day in the
spotlight as the backdrop for the 1997 film "As Good As It
Gets"
starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.
